Can I Save My Sounds or Loops? Understanding Orchid's MemoryUpdated 9 hours ago
This is one of the most frequently asked questions. The short answer is: not at this stage.
Current State: Orchid does not currently have a feature to save user-edited sound presets or recorded loops permanently. When you power the device off, any unsaved work is lost. Loop data is only held in temporary memory while you remain in Loop Mode.
The "Notebook" Philosophy: Orchid is designed as an "ideas machine." The included notebook is encouraged for jotting down settings (e.g., Sound 28, Reverb 50, Voicing 15) for a sound you love, so you can recall it manually later.
Community Workarounds for Capturing Ideas:
Record the Audio: The most common method is to record Orchid's audio output. You can use a DAW with an audio interface, a portable field recorder (like a Zoom), or even a simple cassette recorder for a lo-fi texture.
Record the MIDI: For more flexibility, record the MIDI data into a DAW. This allows you to change the synth sound later or use Orchid's chord and performance data to control other hardware or software instruments.
