How to Use the "Split Keyboard" Setting in Single Note ModeUpdated 8 hours ago
The "Split Keyboard" setting (Options > Single Note) fundamentally changes how the keyboard behaves outside of Key Mode, allowing the Voicing Dial to create dynamic melodic shifts.
Full Octave Keyboard: In this mode, the keyboard behaves predictably. The notes ascend from left to right, and the Voicing Dial has no effect on single notes. This is best for playing traditional melodies.
Split Keyboard: This mode creates a "sliding window" of playable notes across a wider octave range. As you turn the Voicing Dial, this window moves up and down. This can cause the pitch of the keys to change unexpectedly (e.g., pressing a key to the right might produce a lower note than the key to its left).
Why Use It? It's an exploratory tool. The "Split Keyboard" setting encourages you to break free from linear playing and discover new melodic intervals and "happy accidents" by manipulating the Voicing Dial.
